National Coordinator for Health Information Technology David Blumenthal, MD, will be the HIMSS 2010 keynote speaker on March 3, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., sharing his thoughts about the Office of the National Coordinator’s strategic efforts to advance rapid adoption and meaningful use of health IT.
The Social Security Administration is seeking to expand the number of healthcare providers with which it electronically exchanges medical information in order to improve the speed and accuracy of its disability determinations. Connection software is free and downloadable.
In an effort to resolve policy differences among states on sharing electronic health information, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONCHIT) will release recommendations for handling interstate sharing next month from the Health Information Security and Privacy Collaboration.
Axolotl has created a development team to work with the N.Y. Department of Health and the N.Y. eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) to help define the architecture and build the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY).
The National eHealth Collaborative, formerly AHIC Successor, was officially launched Jan. 8 in Washington, D.C., and is a public-private partnership for the creation of a secure and interoperable nationwide health information network (NHIN) to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare.
