ATLANTA—Meaningful use—a concept introduced one year ago—appears to be spurring an increase in health IT spending along with a brightening economy, according to the 21 annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) leadership survey, released today during the society’s conference.
ATLANTA—Upgrading or implementing a certified EHR system will be one of the largest challenges for healthcare CIOs and IT executives in helping their organizations meet the meaningful use requirements, according to a survey released today by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) during the HIMSS10 conference.
As healthcare providers move to adopt e-prescribing and drive greater patient safety, the need for better integration between core clinical systems and pharmacy automation software continues to grow. How well pharmacy software vendors deliver on that integration is having a significant impact on provider adoption and satisfaction, according to a report from market research firm KLAS.
CHICAGO—Implementing clinical systems, including an EMR and computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems, was cited as the top priority for health IT professionals who responded to the 20th Annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Leadership Survey, which was presented Monday at the annual conference.
